Brent Wouda started as a creative designer his own company (VanBrent.nl) in 2009. In the years that have followed it has always been his goal to create and design beautiful things with beautiful people. Reports, websites, magazines and logo’s. All with a creative twist, a touch of happiness and energy that brings a smile on your face. He drinks coffee, eats cookies and talks about new possibilities with people like you.
And now he is at a point that he wants to start sharing what he found along the way.
If you do not know where you should go, look behind you, see the path you walked before and it will be clear which direction you will be heading
Winter in Finland
Eleven years ago I studied in Finland. Winter sports and outdoor activities was one of the subjects. There I encountered the kota (a wooden tipi) for the first time. A shelter build in the middle of nowhere where we stayed for a night after a long trip snow-shoe walking through the swamp. It was during that night I saw the Northern lights. Since then I have been dreaming of a place where I could share and spend time with my closest friends.
Cycling to France
For more than a decade I spend my first week in may in a monastery in France (Learn more about Taizé). in 2010 I even cycled from my home to Taizé (roughly a thousand kilometers). It is in those weeks where I find time to meet new people, talk and discuss about the things we value in life. It always enriches my spiritual- and inner being. Taizé is a place where you share and find things that you might not have been looking for in the first place.
In may 2011 I started a plan to be able to help friends in the future. It started off with the idea to buy a holiday home in Sweden. I wrote several scenario’s with different budgets. From a small cottage to a little farm. All about sharing time and knowledge and help someone providing a getaway. Made a long trip to Sweden to look for the right property. Lost my car in the woods along the way and met the man who poured me coffee for the first time in my life.
Leaving my car under an apple tree made me realize what it would mean to have a property far away. It could feel like a burden, having something outside your grasp. Many friends told me that doors will always be open abroad…
In the years that followed the idea of sharing kept lingering.
This spring I went to Oklahoma and talked with people I only knew virtually before. I got energized and inspired and I finally found a way to start sharing. I created Wprosper to share with you books I found interesting reading, quotes worth thinking about. What better way then give you the opportunity to share your knowledge as well. We will prosper, if we start sharing…
